Lancers Stuff Shoeboxes With Toys, School Supplies & Hygiene Items For Children In Need

FARMVILLE, Va. -- Members of the Longwood baseball team and coaching staff partnered with Operation Christmas Child Monday and packed shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items and school supplies that will be distributed to children in need around the world.

Twelve Lancers assembled more than 650 boxes at Grace Chapel Ministries in Prospect, Va. The Operation Christmas Child program is an initiative headed by Samaritan's Purse. OCC began in 1993 and has since distributed over 113 million shoeboxes to over 150 countries. The program draws more than 500,000 volunteers every year.
