RICHMOND, Va. - The Longwood University men’s soccer team dropped a 3-2 double-overtime decision to the University of Richmond of the Atlantic 10 Conference on Wednesday evening at Ukrop Park in Richmond. Senior Harvey Headley | Coventry, England (Stoke Park) and junior Zack Mahon | San Antonio, Texas (William Howard Taft) each scored for Longwood (0-1). Richmond’s Spencer Schiff scored the game-winning goal in the 105th minute. The Lancers return to action on Saturday, September 4, when they host Liberty University of the Big South Conference at 7 p.m. at the Athletics Complex in Farmville. Admission is free.

FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University won its third consecutive women’s soccer match Tuesday night, taking a 4-0 shutout victory past visiting Virginia Military Institute from the Big South Conference at the Athletics Complex in Farmville. The Lancers scored three goals on penalty kicks, all by senior captain Lauren Trizna|Manassas (Osbourn Park) for the rare hat-trick, en route to their home triumph. Longwood improved its record to 3-2 this season and will return to action this weekend on Sunday, September 5, on the road at Long Island University of the Northeast Conference in Brooklyn, New York beginning at 12 p.m.

Senior Lauren van de Kamp | Midlothian (Trinity Episcopal) scored a pair of goals, including one on a penalty stroke, to lead the Lancers. FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University won its second consecutive women’s soccer match Sunday afternoon, taking a 3-1 victory past visiting South Carolina State University from the Great West Conference at the Athletics Complex in Farmville. The Lancers spotted the Lady Bulldogs an early goal before responding with two goals within four minutes (3:52) en route to their home triumph. Longwood will return to action on Tuesday night, August 31, hosting VMI of the Big South Conference at the Athletics Complex in Farmville beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University dropped a 1-0 men’s soccer exhibition to visiting Loyola University on Saturday afternoon at the Athletics Complex in Farmville. Loyola scored the only goal of the match on a breakaway by Sam Bradley who beat the goalkeeper outside the penalty box and took another dribble before sending the ball into the far corner. Longwood will open its 2010 regular season on Wednesday, September 1, when they travel to Richmond to take on the University of Richmond of the Atlantic-10 Conference at 6 p.m.. The Lancers play their first home match on Saturday, September 4, when they host Liberty University of the Big South Conference at 7 p.m. at the Athletics Complex in Farmville. Admission is free.
