FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University women's lacrosse junior
Karli Brentlinger/Gambrills, Md. (South River) has been named the National Lacrosse Conference (NLC) Player of the Week for the second-straight week for her play in three games last week. Brentlinger scored nine goals and added six ground balls and five draw controls while the Lancers went 1-2 on the week. Longwood (7-8, 6-0 NLC) returns to action on Saturday, April 24, when it hosts Lafayette College at 1 p.m. at the Athletics Complex in Farmville.
Brentlinger started the week with four goals, three ground balls and three draw controls in a 15-14 loss to Virginia Tech. She scored one goal in Longwood's 16-11 loss to Le Moyne and scored four goals with three ground balls in the Lancers' 15-9 win over NLC-foe Detroit.
Brentlinger leads Longwood with 42 goals this season, only two shy of her total from last season. She also has six assists for a team-high 48 points. Brentlinger also leads the team with 37 draw controls and has scored two game-winning goals.
