FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University Director of Athletics Troy Austin has announced that women’s basketball assistant coach Mike Davis will be directing the women’s basketball program, following the announcement that head coach Kristin Caruso has been placed on indefinite paid leave of absence. The leave of absence is a result of undisclosed personnel issues that have been brought to the attention of the athletics department and are currently under review. The decision follows discussions with Longwood President Patricia P. Cormier and Provost Wayne E. McWee.

“This is a personnel issue and our action is in the best interest of Longwood and its student-athletes,” said Austin.
