FARMVILLE, Va. - The Longwood University women’s basketball dropped an 85-40 decision to the University of Maryland of the Atlantic Coast Conference on Sunday afternoon in Farmville. Sophomore Brittanni Billups/Goldsboro, N.C. (Eastern Wayne) led Longwood (5-17) with 17 points and five rebounds. Maryland (16-6) had four players score in double-figures, led by Kim Rodgers with 15 points. The game was selected for the NCAA “Pack The House Challenge” and a season-high 831 fans turned out for the matchup. The Lancers return to action on Wednesday, February 10, when they host Troy University at 7 p.m. in Willett Hall on campus in Farmville. The game is the WBCA “Pink Zone” game with a portion of the proceeds going to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

FARMVILLE, Va. - The Longwood University women’s basketball program is set to host the University of Maryland of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) on Sunday, January 31, at 2 p.m. in Willett Hall on campus in Farmville for the “NCAA Pack The House Challenge". The game marks the first time the women’s basketball team has welcomed an ACC team to Willett Hall and is the first meeting between the two programs. Longwood (5-16) is coached by third-year head coach Kristin Caruso and is led by freshman Chelsea Coward/Mechanicsville (Hanover) who is averaging 10.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Maryland (15-6), who won the 2006 national championship, is coached by eighth-year head coach Brenda Frese and is led by Diandra Tchatchouang who is averaging 13.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. FARMVILLE, Va. - The Longwood University women’s basketball snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 62-51 win over Winthrop University of the Big South Conference on Tuesday night in Willett Hall in Farmville. Sophomore Brittanni Billups/Goldsboro, N.C. (Eastern Wayne) set career-highs in points and rebounds for the second time in three games with 24 points (8-17 FG, 8-10 FT) and 13 rebounds to lead the Lancers (5-16). Winthrop (6-13) was led by Kaitlyn Rubino with 12 points and eight rebounds. Longwood returns to action on Sunday, January 31, when they host the University of Maryland of the Atlantic Coast Conference at 2 p.m. in Willett Hall for “Pack the House” day.

Longwood (4-16) was led by freshman Chelsea Coward/Mechanicsville (Hanover) with 15 points and six rebounds. Seattle was paced by Ashley Brown with 22 points and seven rebounds. OREM, Utah - The Longwood University women's basketball dropped a 75-60 decision at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Monday night. The Lancers (4-15) were led by sophomore Brittanni Billups/Goldsboro, N.C. (Eastern Wayne) with her first double-double of the season, recording a career-high 22 points with a career-high 11 rebounds. Utah Valley (4-15) was led by Jenna Johnson with 24 points. Longwood returns to action on Thursday, January 21, when they face Seattle University in Seattle, Washington at 8:30 p.m. ET.
