FARMVILLE, Va. – The Longwood University women's tennis team beat Shaw on Lancer Courts in Farmville 7-0 Monday afternoon. Senior Zsofia Jakab|Minusio, Switzerland (Lices Cantonale Locarns) and freshman Sarah Moomau|Winchester (John Handley) moved their singles winning streak to three matches as Jakab took No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-2 and Moomau won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4. The Lancers travel to Radford, Virginia to face Radford at 3 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday), April 12.

Jakab earned a default win at No. 3 doubles with sophomore Marta Pinyol|Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada), while Pinyol topped her No. 2 foe 7-6, 7-5. Junior Veronika Bohm|Hirschberg, Germany (Ludwig Frank) tallied a 3-1 win by retirement at No. 3 singles, and senior Nasim Moadab|Colonial Heights (Colonial Heights) swept her No. 5 opponent 6-0 in two sets. Freshman Nicole Parker|Richmond (Mills Godwin) won on a walkover, as Shaw only had five players competing.

Sophomore Allison Shulman|Richmond (Deep Run) and freshman Bethany Law|Ona, W. Va. (Cabell Midland) went out on top in the No. 1 doubles slot 8-1, while sophomore Hannah Hill|Portsmouth (Western Branch) teamed up with Parker, falling at No. 2 doubles 8-7. Jakab and Pinyol won by default at the No. 3 position.
