Alexa Boucher Ties For 6th At VSGA's Women's Stroke Play Championship

RICHMOND, Va. -- Longwood University sophomore women's golfer Alexa Boucher/Orange (Orange) tied for sixth-place among 38 golfers at the 32nd Virginias Women's Stroke Play Championship, a 54-hole tournament conducted by the Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) at the Meadowbrook Country Club this week in Richmond.  She posted a 78-75-73--226 at the 5,723-yard, par 71 layout while tying for sixth overall, and taking first-place in the Second Flight after the field was flighted following two rounds.  Boucher's final-round 73 tied for fourth-best among the field during the final day of competition.  University of Virginia sophomore Lauren Greenlief won the tournament with her 72-68-70--210 in the event for women from Virginia and West Virginia.

Boucher played in just three tournaments during her freshman year at Longwood, averaging 87.2, including her best finish of 29th-place during the Tina Barrett Invitational (87-88-81--256).  Alexa is the daughter of Donald and Erica Boucher of Orange, and is majoring in criminal justice with a minor in chemistry.
