Kayla Miller is in her 11th year at Longwood University during 2010-11, and her fourth-year serving as a full-time assistant coach after previously volunteering. She serves as the program’s pitching coach while working with outfielders as well, and is the team’s travel coordinator. Miller is a former two-time All-American in both United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Class A and Class C summer leagues, and has three USSSA Class A championship rings from her time with the Cannan (Texas) Illusions.
Miller attended both Wayne (Texas) Community College and Mount Olive (N.C.) College. She played volleyball for two years, and softball for one year with the Trojans in North Carolina, earning All-Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference (CVAC) honors in softball.
A native of Houston, Texas, Miller earned her Bachelor of Science degree in liberal studies and a license to teach with an endorsement in elementary education from Longwood in 2007. She has previously served as an assistant coach for women’s soccer at Longwood as well.
