FARMVILLE, Va. - The Lancers head into this week after a disappointing 3-1 loss at the University of North Florida on Oct. 14. Brian Germain scored the teams lone goal in the second minute of the game, putting Longwood up 1-0. North Florida bounced back scoring three unanswered goals, sending Longwood home with a loss.
Despite losing last week, the Lancers have had a week to regroup before taking on Atlantic Coast Conference foe #14 Virginia. The Cavaliers are currently 8-3 overall and 4-0 in the ACC.

WHO TO WATCH: Brian Germain has been on a roll for the Lancers scoring his first three goals of the season in the teams last three games. Harvey Headley is still the Lancers leading scorer on the season, registering five goals, while Martin Vickerton leads the team in assists with four.

QUOTABLE:
Head Coach Jon Atkinson on last week: We started the game on a positive note. However, we allowed the game to get away from us. We have to be more consistent and stay positive, taking our chances and playing smart soccer.
Atkinson on this week: After an unsuccessful trip to UNF we hope to put the frustrations behind us and give a good account of ourselves against a highly touted UVA side. There will be no better way to bounce back than to put in a performance against a nationally ranked team. We are under no illusion it will be a tough game but it hurts to lose but it hurts even more to win.
