The Lancers completed the year with an overall record of 145-131-3 for an overall winning percentage of .525 percent to earn the ninth-place ranking among the 14 Virginia schools that compete at the Division I level -- finishing ahead of Radford, George Mason, Hampton, Norfolk State, and VMI. Among the women&rsquo;s sports, Longwood ranked fifth with its record of 87-71-1 (.550) while the men&rsquo;s sports ranked 11th with a record of 58-60-2 (.492). The eight women&rsquo;s teams posted a spring semester GPA of 3.18, while the six men&rsquo;s teams posted a 2.92. All 14 sports will be represented during the graduation ceremonies as Longwood President Patricia Cormier, who is retiring June 30 after 14 years, will be the speaker for approximately 806 bachelor's degrees and 181 master's degrees that are expected to be awarded. In her remarks, Dr. Cormier will share lessons she has learned as Longwood's 24th president.
