FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University opened its 2010-11 intercollegiate athletics campaign this past Sunday, August 22, with The GAME (Greatest Athletics March Ever).  The Lancers played the University of Richmond from the Atlantic 10 Conference in women's soccer at the Athletics Complex in Farmville.  The highly anticipated contest was played before a raucous and record-crowd of over 1,300 in a match that the Spiders won 1-0.  A picnic, pep rally, and a march from campus to the soccer facility on Johnston Drive took place prior to the opening kick.
