FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University softball junior Camille Ketsdever/Irvine, Calif. (Irvine) was named to the 2009 VaSID University Division All-State Softball Second Team as announced today after being voted on by Virginia Sports Information Directors Association (VaSID). The VaSID Player of the Year is Jenna Rhodes (.474, 49 stolen bases) of Virginia Tech, the Pitcher of the Year is Meredith Felts (18-5, 1.62 ERA) of James Madison University, the Rookie of the Year is Leigh Godfrey (.469, 58 runs) of Radford University and the Coach of the Year is Radford’s Mickey Dean (41-15).

Ketsdever batted .345 (50-for-145) with 20 RBI in 44 games this season. She had eight doubles, two triples and three home runs and scored 23 runs. Ketsdever had a .490 slugging percentage stole eight bases. She had her nine-game hitting streak snapped against North Carolina (3.18) only to start a 10-game streak in the next game. Ketsdever had at least one hit in 33 of 44 games this season and had three hits in one game five times. She went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI at Presbyterian (4.11) and went 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI at UC Riverside (3.14).
