FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University associate director of athletics for student-athlete enhancement and senior woman administrator
Michelle Meadows has announced the recent appointment of Nick Schroeder as the school's Director of Compliance. Schroeder most recently served as a compliance office intern at UNC Charlotte. He earned his bachelor of science degree in exercise sports science with a minor in mathematics from Elon University in 2004, and his master of science in sport administration from the University of Louisville in 2008.
“I'm extremely excited to welcome Nick Schroeder to the Longwood Athletics team,” said Meadows. “He will be a tremendous asset to our department through his work ethic, energy and enthusiasm for college athletics.”
While at Charlotte, Schroeder supervised and educated 16 varsity athletic teams on NCAA rules and regulations, oversaw prospective student-athlete admittance to school from preparing the National Letter of Intent (NLI), certification of amateurism and eligibility through the NCAA Eligibility Center and created and distributed monthly newsletters for coaches and student-athletes.
Prior to Charlotte, Schroeder served as a compliance office intern at the University of Louisville. While at Louisville, he recorded athletic data into the Compliance Assistant Internet software for practice, recruiting and student-athlete information.
In addition, Schroeder worked as a guest lecturer for sport governance at Louisville, was a sales associate with the Louisville Bats (AAA minor league baseball team) and served as the sponsorship chairman for the Louisville Sport Administration Golf Scramble. While at Elon, he worked as a media technician for event support and as an athletic training student.
A native of Elliston, Virginia, Schroeder will be responsible for directing the daily operations of the compliance program at Longwood including such aspects as rules education, compliance monitoring systems, and interpretations.
