FARMVILLE, Va. - Longwood University men’s soccer senior defender Martin Vickerton/Derbyshire, England (Kirk Hallam CTC) has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-North Atlantic Third Team. This is the second time that Vickerton has earned Third-Team All-Region honors as the senior garnered the same recognition following the 2006 season.

Vickerton scored four goals with one assist for the Lancers this season for nine points. He scored two goals, including the game-winner, in Longwood’s 3-2 victory over Houston Baptist in the Atlantic Soccer Conference (ASC) tournament. He also scored the game-winning goal against Howard during the regular season.

“I’m very happy that Martin’s hard work did not go unnoticed,” said Longwood head coach Jon Atkinson. “He had a tremendous career here and to earn All-Region honors for the second time is a just reward for his efforts.”
