FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University sophomore Amanda Babineau/Stafford (Mountain View) has been named this week’s Northern Pacific Field Hockey Conference (NorPac) East Division Offensive Player of the Week. Babineau scored the game-winning goals in both non-conference matches played in Muncie, Indiana this past weekend, October 17-18. She tallied the only goal of the contest during a 1-0 win past Central Michigan on Oct. 17 before adding the match’s decisive goal during a 2-1 win at Ball State on Oct. 18. Babineau has started eight of 12 matches this fall and is tied for the team lead in goals (4) while tied for third in scoring (8), and also leads the team in game-winning goals (3). The Lancers have a record of 7-7 overall, 2-1 in the NorPac East, and host rival Radford University (8-7, 4-0 NorPac East) this Friday evening, Oct. 23, during Senior Day at the Athletics Complex in Farmville beginning at 5 p.m.. Admission is free.
